I was able to attend a college football game at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois, on Saturday, October 7, 2017. The Northwestern Wildcats played the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Penn State football team beat Northwestern by a score of 31 to 7. It was Homecoming for Northwestern, and Northwestern was fortunate to score a touchdown within the final minutes, otherwise it would have been a shutout. Northwestern University quarterback Clayton Thorson threw for 142 yards and running back Justin Jackson ran for 66 yards. Penn State running back Saquon Barkley gained 75 yards on the ground. Northwestern University linebacker Paddy Fisher and safety Godwin Igwebuike were both ejected from the game for targeting.
I walked around the Northwestern University campus a bit after the game as the rain held off for a little while and it was in the 70s. Below are some pictures while at Northwestern including football action and some of the recent construction projects on campus.
